Honesty pages

What keel doesn't do (yet)

An honest list of current limitations and what's planned next.

keel is honest about its edges. This page lists what keel can't do today, why, and — where there's a plan — what's coming. If something here matters to you, it's worth checking back: the list shrinks over time.

Current limitations

No automatic bank connection (yet)

keel works by CSV and PDF import — there's no Open Banking connection that syncs transactions automatically. Open Banking is planned. In the meantime, importing statements works for every UK bank.

No automatic credit monitoring

keel doesn't connect to credit reference agencies for live credit data. A direct connection is planned. See credit reports for what keel can do with credit report data today.

No mobile app (yet)

keel is a web app. An iOS and Android app is planned.

No dark mode (yet)

One theme for now. Dark mode is on the roadmap.

keel can't cancel subscriptions for you

keel shows your recurring charges — what you're paying, how often, and what it costs over a year — but it can't cancel a subscription on your behalf. You see the costs; you decide what goes.

No virtual pots

keel can't hold or allocate your money — that requires a banking licence. A virtual allocation layer (labels over your real balances) is a future consideration.

Loan repayments aren't split into capital and interest

A loan repayment is treated as a single payment rather than separated into the part that reduces the loan and the part that's interest. Proper separation needs richer credit data and is planned.

No bill switching or product recommendations

keel doesn't recommend alternative energy providers, broadband deals, or financial products. That's deliberately off the table for now.

No investment tracking

Investment portfolios, ISA performance and pension values aren't tracked. This needs platform integrations and sits on the future roadmap.

Emergency fund relies on what you tell keel

Without an automatic bank connection, keel can't always see your savings balances directly. Your emergency fund buffer starts from what you declare, and gets more precise as you import savings account statements.

FAQ

When will you support my bank via Open Banking? Open Banking integration is planned. Until then, CSV and PDF import work for every UK bank.

Can keel cancel my subscriptions? No. keel shows you what you're paying and what it costs annually — you decide what to cancel.
