Terms of Service
keel is a household personal-finance app operated by Six Figure Startups Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are the agreement between you and us for your use of keel. By creating an account or using keel, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use keel.
Last updated: 25 June 2026.
keel is currently in private beta. That means the app is still being built and tested. Things may change, break, or be removed, and features described in the app may not be final. Please read the "Beta service" section below — it matters.
Who we are
keel is operated by Six Figure Startups Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. You can reach us at support@keel-finance.co for anything to do with these terms or your account.
keel is not financial advice
This is the most important thing to understand about keel.
- keel is a financial coaching and money-management tool. It helps you see, organise and understand your household finances, and it offers general, automated guidance based on your own data.
- keel does not provide regulated financial advice, investment advice, debt counselling, tax advice, or any personal recommendation about a specific financial product. Nothing in keel — including its health score, coaching insights, benchmarks, budget suggestions, or debt-repayment projections — is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or take out any financial product.
- We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and keel is not a substitute for advice from a qualified, regulated financial adviser. For decisions that matter, please seek independent professional advice.
- Figures, scores, projections and categorisations in keel are estimates generated from the data you give us. They can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for the financial decisions you make.
Beta service — provided "as is"
While keel is in beta:
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
- Features may change, be added, be removed, or stop working without notice.
- We can't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data you import or enter will always be preserved. Please keep your own copies of any statements or records you upload.
- Categorisation, coaching, scoring and other automated outputs may contain errors. Always check anything important against your own bank statements and records.
Who can use keel
To use keel you must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom. keel is built for UK household finances and we don't currently support other regions. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Households and shared access
keel is built around households. If you invite another person to your household, or join one, you both have access to the household's financial data inside keel. Only invite people you're happy to share that information with. The household owner can manage members and may remove access.
Your financial data
- You can add data to keel by uploading bank or card statements (CSV or PDF), uploading a credit report, or entering information manually. By doing so, you confirm you have the right to share that data with us.
- How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy notice, which forms part of these terms. Please read it.
- You keep ownership of your data. You can export it or delete your account at any time from Settings; deleting your account erases your keel data and your sign-in identity.
AI features
keel uses automated and AI-powered processing to categorise transactions, generate coaching insights and read uploaded documents. These features are automated, can make mistakes, and do not involve a human reviewing your finances. Treat their output as a helpful starting point, not as a definitive or professional assessment.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use keel for anything unlawful, or to upload data you don't have the right to share;
- attempt to break, probe, overload, or gain unauthorised access to keel or its systems;
- copy, resell, or commercially exploit keel or its content without our permission;
- upload malicious code or interfere with other users.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Our content and intellectual property
keel, its software, design, content and branding belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use keel for managing your own household finances while these terms are in force. We keep all rights not expressly granted.
Subscriptions and payment
keel may offer paid subscriptions in future. During the private beta, any paid features, pricing and billing terms will be made clear before you're asked to pay, and will be added to these terms at that time.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and given that keel is a beta product provided free of charge:
- we are not liable for any financial loss, lost profits, lost savings, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of keel or your reliance on its outputs;
- we are not liable for losses caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable data, or by decisions you make based on keel.
Ending these terms
You can stop using keel and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering keel. Some sections (such as those on liability, intellectual property and data) continue to apply after your account ends.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as keel evolves and change the "last updated" date above. If we make a material change, we'll bring it to your attention in the app and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any consumer rights you have to bring a claim in your local courts.
